       A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in loving memory and honor of Susan K.

Woizeschke Thayer.

       WHEREAS, Susan K. Woizeschke Thayer was born on September 1, 1948, in

Saginaw, Michigan to William and Rose Parrent Woizeschke; and

       WHEREAS, Mrs. Thayer was a 1966 graduate of Reese High School, and enjoyed a

committed and accomplished career as an accountant. She was married to Daniel Thayer

in her hometown of Reese, Michigan on February 4, 1967, and was his devoted wife for

nearly 40 years; and
       WHEREAS, Mrs. Thayer raised a daughter, Dena Thayer Kilpatrick, and a son,

Damon Thayer, and took great pride in their accomplishments as a nurse and vice

president of marketing for the Breeders' Cup, respectively; and

       WHEREAS, Mrs. Thayer shared a special bond with her four grandchildren, Daniel

Thayer, Katie Thayer, Spencer Kilpatrick, and Case Kilpatrick; and enjoyed the thrill of

sharing her passion for the outdoors with them; and

       WHEREAS, Mrs. Thayer particularly enjoyed traveling with her husband,

especially to horse races and Breeders' Cup events; and

       WHEREAS, Mrs. Thayer was a devoted parishioner of St. Mary's Catholic Church

in Grayling, Michigan and an enthusiastic member of the Crawford County, Michigan

Republican Party. Her dedication to her faith and her commitment to the Republican

Party ideals of morality and responsibility were passed down to her son, the Senator from

Scott; and

       WHEREAS, Mrs. Thayer departed this life on July 4, 2006, leaving behind a

grieving family and community that will always remember the values and ideals for

which she lived;

       NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of

Kentucky:

1          Section 1. The Senate expresses its deepest sympathy upon the passing of Susan K.

2   Woizeschke Thayer, and extends its sincere condolences to her family, friends, and

3   community.

4          Section 2.   When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and

5   honor of Susan K. Woizeschke Thayer.

6          Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution

7   to Senator Damon Thayer, 102 Grayson Way, Georgetown, Kentucky 40324.
