As a child, Grace Meng learned from her father to take nothing for granted. You did what you
had to do to put food on the table and send your kids to good schools. Her father’s hard work paid
off — Grace not only would earn a law degree, but a seat in the New York State Assembly where
she led the charge to extend unemployment benefits for those struggling to find a job.
