DESCRIPTION OF CABLE

1. 500 MCM extra flexible, stranded, single conductor

2. Cable characteristics: 90 degree Celsius operating temperature, 600V minimum rated, overall outside diameter
minimum 1.380” and max 1.450”, Bend radius in inches – 11.5” minimum. Insulator and outer jacket bonded
together.

   2a. Conductor: #34 AWG not tinned copper; strand construction (37 by 7 by 49),
approximately 12,691 to 12,768

   2b. Separator: Opaque Mylar

   2c. Insulator: Butyl or Ethylene propylene rubber, minimum 0.155” thick

   2d. Reinforcement Serve: 2 reverse nylon braids

   2e. Outer Jacket: Smooth, abrasion-resistant cured-in-lead or polycure neoprene jacket, minimum 0.108” thick.
Outer jacket to be imprinted with manufacturer’s name size, voltage, and date

3. Ends of cables will be sealed to prevent dampness/water intrusion during shipping and storage.

4. Minimum resistance rating:

   a. Insulation resistance – 100 Megohms
   b. Conductor resistance - .0234 OHMs per 1000’

5. Ship lengths in 500’ to 1,000’ reels. Reel size approximately 40 to 45” in diameter by 27” plus/minus 1”. Cable
length on spool must be divisible by 100’ (i.e. 590’ cable on a 500’ reel will be credited as a 500’ reel)
