The Civil, Architectural, Agricultural & Environmental Engineering department invites applications for a tenure
track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
North Carolina A & T State University is a public land grant university and enrolls over 11,000 students in 85 BS,
49 MS and 6 Ph. D. degree programs. The College of Engineering, with over 1,700 students, includes ABET
accredited undergraduate programs in Architectural, Biological, Civil, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, and
Mechanical Engineering, as well as an accredited BS program in Computer Science. There are Masters Degree
programs in Civil, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Computational
Science and Engineering (interdisciplinary). Ph.D. programs are also offered in Electrical, Industrial and
Mechanical Engineering; as well as an interdisciplinary Energy and Environmental Systems; Computational
Science and Engineering; and Leadership Studies programs. The CAAE Department has 17 faculty members and
offers BS degrees in four areas (Civil, Architectural and Environmental) and a MS degree in Civil Engineering.

The CAAE Department of North Carolina A&T State University invites applications for a tenure track Associate
Professor Position in the Architectural Engineering to begin in Fall 2012. Assistant professors with extensive
experience will also be considered for the position. We seek candidates with research and teaching interests in
general areas of architectural engineering and building systems, with a focus on electrical and mechanical
systems for buildings. The nominee for the position must have research credentials to take an active role in the
Center for Energy Research and Technology (CERT). CERT’s annual funding is more than $500k from state and
federal sources. The candidate will be expected to develop leadership in the department's research in
architectural engineering area.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Teaching courses in general areas of architectural engineering, including illumination, lighting technologies,
building electrical power, heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC), and renewable energy technologies.
An earned PhD in architectural engineering or a closely related discipline is required; candidates must have a
commitment to teaching excellence and be qualified to teach courses in general areas of architectural
engineering, including building electrical power, heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC), and renewable
energy technologies. Applicants must be able to develop an externally funded research program and to teach at
both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
