U.S. GOVERNMENT APPROVES ACTIVE CONTROL’S NEW WIRELESS FACE NODE
Communications and tracking now enabled where most miners work - at the mine face
TORONTO, August 26, 2010 - Active Control Technology Inc. (TSX-V:ACT), a leading provider of
advanced wireless communication, productivity and safety systems, today announced that it has
received regulatory approval from the U.S. Federal Mine Safety and Health Administration
(MSHA) for its new ActiveMine™ AM2000 Face Node solution.
“MSHA approval of our new ActiveMine™ AM2000 Face Node means that customers can now fully
install communications and tracking right up to the working face of the underground coal mine,
where most miners are located,” said Cameron Sturgess, President and CEO, Active Control
Technology. “It also puts us on a stronger footing to generate more purchase orders. We wish to
thank MSHA for their hard work and assistance through the approval process.”
“The face solution is the first in our series of the AM2000 product line. We have eliminated the
need for over 1000 feet of antenna cable and significantly reduced the size and weight of the
product as compared to our AM1000 product line. This increases the mobility of the ActiveMine™
AM2000 Face Node and provides a tangible benefit to our customers,” said Sturgess. “Our plan is
to start delivering the AM2000 Face Node at existing customer sites within the next few months.”
