Level 3 Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical
17th Edition Wiring Regulations
City & Guilds 2382-10
Duration – 5 days includes Exam (2 hours on-line)
This course is aimed at practicing electricians with relevant experience and other
associated professionals such as electrical engineers, contract managers,
designers, consultants, surveyors and others needing to update and enhance
their understanding of the IEE Wiring Regulations. It may also be suitable for
others requiring an understanding of BS7671, although prior knowledge in basic
electrical science will be required.
Upon completion delegates should be familiar with the format, content and
application of the Regulations BS7671:2008 (17th Edition). This qualification was
developed by City & Guilds in conjunction with members of the electrical
industry including NICEIC and the ECA.
This qualification is a direct replacement for C&G2381. There are no formal entry
requirements for candidates undertaking this qualification. However, candidates must
have a basic knowledge of electrical science.
The course comprises:
Detailed examination of all parts of BS7671
Scope, object and fundamental principles
Assessment of general characteristics
Protection for safety
Selection and erection of equipment
Inspection and testing
Special installations or locations
Preparation for City & Guilds 2382-10 multiple choice on-line
assessment of 60 questions (2 hours – open book)
Delegates require a personal copy of BS 7671:2008 (red cover), as this will be used throughout
the course and can be used for reference during the exam.
