Thank you for your interest in KAINOS IN
THE COMMUNITY.

Volunteers are central to a great deal of
KAINOS COMMUNITY’s work. To succeed
with full and meaningful resettlement of
offenders our work needs the ongoing
active support from a team of volunteers who will engage with and support
graduates of our Challenge to Change Programme, details of which you will learn
about during your training.

There are a number of stages to becoming a KAINOS IN THE COMMUNITY
volunteer:

 completion of the application form
    interview
    Criminal Records Bureau check
    training
    post-course interview

KAINOS IN THE COMMUNITY volunteers receive:

    support and supervision
    travel expenses
    additional training

As a KAINOS IN THE COMMUNITY volunteer you will be supporting vitally important
work that ensures our graduates (whom we regard very much as ex-offenders) are
fully rehabilitated in their community.

Clients' needs vary considerably but as a volunteer you may be expected to help
with:

    developing learned skills
    appointments e.g. probation interviews
    preparing for job interviews
    assisting with housing
    supervising mentoring
    affirming progress
 signposting to organisations including local churches

KAINOS IN THE COMMUNITY offers incredibly rewarding vocational work and we
hope you join the team.

Jeremy Butler, Regional Manager (Midlands) May 2009
