ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Admission to the Master of Science with a major in Nursing Administration or Nursing Education:
I B.S. Degree with an upper division nursing major from a regionally accredited program.
I Undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale from the baccalaureate degree granting
institution of which at least a minimum of 30 hours was completed.
I Anyone applying to become a student or faculty member of Indiana Wesleyan University must
provide proof that all nursing licenses - whether current or inactive - are unencumbered. Potential
students or faculty with encumbered nursing licenses will not be considered eligible for
enrollment or employment at Indiana Wesleyan University.
I Evidence of personal and professional qualifications from three persons familiar with the
applicant's academic ability, work experience, professional nursing contributions and potential to
achieve in graduate school.
I Original transcript from the bachelor degree granting institution.
I Personal statement of goals for graduate study.
I At least one year of professional practice. Students applying for admission to the Nursing
Administration or Nursing Education majors must have 1000 hours of direct contact and/or care
for patients within the three years prior to admission.
I Two criminal history background checks will be conducted on all enrolled students. The first will
be conducted upon initial enrollment to the program. The second will be conducted prior to the
student's first practicum experience. (Cost for these checks is included in student fees.)
Progression in the program may depend on the results of these checks.
I Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) if English is not first language.

Administration or Nursing Education, for a total of 40 credit-hours.

POST MASTERS CERTIFICATES
Students who have previously earned a Master of Science degree with a major in nursing from a regionally
accredited university may be eligible for Indiana Wesleyan University’s Post Masters certificate program.
Students will take up to seven courses in either nursing education or nursing administration to complete the
program. The Post Masters certificate takes approximately 13 months to complete. Graduates are eligible to
seek certification from the appropriate credentialing body. Please contact an admissions representative or go to

TUITION AND FEES (Effective July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2008)
I Initial Deposit - $100
After all application materials have been submitted and evaluated, an applicant will receive notification advising
of his/her acceptance status. Upon acceptance into the program, an initial deposit of $100 must be submitted to
reserve a space in a class. The deposit must be submitted two weeks prior to date of the first class or
immediately after acceptance if there are less than two weeks before the first class.

I Total Cost
The total cost of the program is divided into several payments spread over the course of the program. The first
tuition payment is due 14 days prior to the first class. All subsequent tuition payments are due 3 weeks before
the start date of each course. The exact amount of each payment varies based on the number of credit hours,
fees, and the cost of books for the courses covered by the payment. For specific payment amounts and due
dates, refer to a class tuition payment schedule.
I Tuition, books, and fees are fixed for students based upon the charges in effect upon enrollment in the core
program unless the student withdraws, or changes any preset registration. In such instances the prevailing
charges at the time of re-entry may apply.
I Books are not returnable for a refund.
I A $50 charge will be assessed for any payment not received by the due date.
I A $15 charge will be assessed for each check returned for non-sufficient funds.

I Additional shipping costs may apply to books shipped to Alaska, Hawaii, or international destinations. Students
