Consultants Start on Mokoan Project 24th June 2005 The Lake Mokoan Future Land Use Steering Committee (LMFLUSC) met with the, Beca Pty Ltd, consultants appointed to lead the Lake Mokoan Future Land Use Study last week, to discuss methodology for community consultation on possible future land use of the Lake Mokoan site. Beca representatives addressed the Steering Committee, outlining it’s plans for community meetings and the consultation process. Steering Committee Chair Sally Simson said the Committee members are very happy with the outline Beca had produced, and that the LMFLUSC is confident that the consultants will work together with the Steering Committee to meet community expectations in the consultation process. "Transparency and listening to community views are essential to the success of the consultation process and we are confident that all our expectations in this regard will be met," Ms Simson said. Plans are in place for forums, meetings and individual sessions to take place between members of the community and consultantsover the next three months.
