					Abstract:

       In this project a Persian wheel is made to rotate with the help of the electric current so
obtained from a solar panel. The Solar panel, made up of a semiconductor device collects the
required amount of electric current required to run the Persian Wheel. The DC output is fed
to a lead acid battery using a charging kit which in turn charges the battery. The charge
coming out of the battery is then fed to a Gear Motor which rotates at 30rpm. The output
shaft of the Gear Motor is connected to the Persian Wheel. The Persian Wheel is a rotating
device with buckets fixed at the axial points. The Wheel is allowed to rotate with a portion
immersed in the water. As the wheel rotates the water is trapped in the buckets and when the
buckets traverses to the top the water falls from the bucket and collected at a place higher to
the former source. This system will be helpful for the farmers of India taking in account the
amount of price of Diesel and Petrol in recent years. This project is a perfect blend of the
ancient and modern styles.
