CHARRETTE-CIANCIOLO DUO CLAIMS CRUCHON CROWN
Ken Charrette of St. Clair Shores and Len Cianciolo of Warren teamed up to win the 17th
Annual Steve Cruchon Memorial Tournament at Sterling Lanes in Sterling Heights.
The Charrette-Cianciolo duo defeated the team of Don Braun of Warren and Trey Edwards of
Oak Park 419-414 in a hotly contested match.
The Charrette-Cianciolo team qualified third in the field of 32 teams and beat Jim Strobl of
Dearborn and George Roberts III of Clinton Township 436-425 to advance to the final match.
The Braun-Edwards team qualified first and easily beat Kevin Wojcik of Clinton Township and
Greg Opalewski of Sterling Heights 430-373 en route to the championship match.
While the competition was spirited and the camaraderie was outstanding the real purpose of
the event was to raise money for the Karmanos Cancer Foundation and the International
Bowling Hall of Fame and Museum.
Sixty-four bowlers participated, each bringing pledges and/or selling of raffle tickets in

Association which serves nearly 80,000 adult and youth bowlers in the Metropolitan Detroit
market and is the largest local association of the United States Bowling Congress.
