Denham Springs Natives Leslie & Brooke Martin Sing With
The Music Legend on the Classic, “In The Sweet By And By”
The Love of God is Rogers’ first inspirational gospel album

NASHVILLE, TN | Winfield’s Locket – Leslie Martin and Brooke Martin, natives of Denham
Springs, Louisiana – are featured guest performers on Kenny Rogers’ first inspirational
gospel album, The Love of God, which is being released today (March 7, 2011) exclusively
at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store locations nationwide.

The unmistakable sibling harmonies of Winfield’s Locket can be heard blending beautifully with
Rogers’ signature voice on the classic, “In The Sweet By And By” – a hymn Rogers says was
his mother’s favorite song.

“Listen closely to the background voices on ‘In The Sweet By And By’ and you’ll hear the
unique harmonies of country duo Winfield’s Locket,” the Grammy Award-winning Rogers writes
in the album’s liner notes. “They – like me – have been influenced by gospel music from a
very early age. The sisters have a sound based on the way they layer their harmonies, the
timbre of their voices, and the way they phrase. I was so glad we could find a moment to
share on this album. This has always been one of my favorite songs, and if it wasn’t before,
it is now.”

Rogers and Winfield’s Locket are joined on the song by such extraordinary musicians as the
incomparable Jerry Douglas of Alison Krauss & Union Station on dobro (Ray Charles, James
Taylor, Brooks & Dunn), renowned picker Bryan Sutton on acoustic guitar and mandolin (Dolly
Parton, Bela Fleck, Ricky Skaggs), and acclaimed bassist Viktor Krauss on acoustic bass
(Alison Krauss, John Fogerty, Michael McDonald).

“It was a great honor to be a part of such an outstanding album,” Brooke Martin, who was
born in Raceland, Louisiana, says. “It was awesome to hear Kenny's version of ‘In The Sweet
By and By.’ He did such an amazing job. We had so much fun singing harmonies for one of
country music’s biggest legends. It was almost surreal. It was a very exciting time in our
lives, and it's something we'll never forget! We would like to thank everyone that made this
dream come true for us.”

Leslie Martin, a graduate of Louisiana State University (biological sciences) who was also born
in Raceland, Louisiana, adds, “It was an honor to sing with Kenny on ‘In The Sweet By And
By.’ He is one of my favorite singers, and I highly respect how versatile he is both vocally
and musically. My grandma, Dorothy, and her sister, Billie, loved harmonizing to this song,
so when we were asked to be featured on this track, I was ecstatic. I really enjoyed being
part of the record!”

The Love Of God features 12 uplifting songs sung only the way the music legend and American
icon can sing them. Marked by strikingly fresh musical and vocal arrangements, the warm
and inviting album includes all-new recordings of time-honored hymns and standards (“Will
The Circle Be Unbroken,” “Amazing Grace”) and contemporary songs from writers such as
Vince Gill (“The Rock Of Your Love”) and Michael McDonald (“Peace”) that have touched
Rogers musically and spiritually through the years. The Whites and Point of Grace join
Winfield’s Locket as guest artists on the album.

“The Love of God is the culmination of an idea I had been thinking about for years but never
had the opportunity to bring to life,” Rogers says. “To all of the wonderful musicians,
vocalists, and songwriters who lent their amazing talents to this record, I want to thank you
for making it so special. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to do this album. It has
been both a musical and religious awakening for me.”

Gambler,” “Lady,” “She Believes In Me” and “Islands In The Stream” (with Dolly Parton)
among them.

Winfield’s Locket is quickly becoming known for their unique blend of roots & soul-infused
country, which is built around the duo’s impeccable harmonies. Vocalists, musicians,
composers, producers and performers, Leslie (piano) and Brooke (guitar, mandolin) write
timeless songs with remarkable melodies that stretch conventional boundaries. The self-titled
debut album by the talented sisters, released on This Side Up Records (available at iTunes - and online at, continues to receive rave reviews and critical acclaim:

“For a DisCovery Award, you can’t do much better than Winfield’s Locket…get it (their CD).
The track (“Worth The Drive”) is echoey and enchanting. Their vocals are fierce and fine.” –
Robert K. Oermann, Music Row

“Start with sibling synchronicity. Add plenty of talent, parceled out individually to both Brooke
and Leslie Martin. For final sweetening, place them in Denham Springs, LA, where they could
grow up in a musically diverse milieu of old-school gospel, swampy blues, Southern rock,
straight-ahead Country and whatever else wafted in their direction from nearby New Orleans…
their history as collaborators stretches back to when they were both around 4 years old, and
you can hear it in their sure-handed craftsmanship. The diversity in their taste is evident,
too, from the deep-fried slide guitar on ‘Worth The Drive,’ written by Brooke, Leslie and Alan
Bennett…(they alternate) solo and harmonized vocals with equal ease in every setting…(and)
tie it all together with little apparent effort but plenty of soul.” - CMA Close Up (the official
publication of the Country Music Association)

“If an artist has crafted something that's on par (or better than) what major labels would be
putting out themselves, why not pick up a self-financed and released recording? There are
plenty of examples of artists with recordings that are mainstream-ready…the same thing can
be said for a duo called Winfield's Locket. They have produced an album with their
management company (Kenny Rogers' Dreamcatcher Entertainment) and it is another fine
example of something that could add to country's mainstream.”
- Matt Bjorke, Founder of for 101 Distribution

“A hot new duo (with a) stunning blend of harmonies…” - Chuck Dauphin, Music News

Winfield’s Locket is generating a buzz on Music Row in Nashville and beyond. The Lockets are
featured in the current issue of CMA Close Up, the official publication of the Country Music
Association, and have also been showcased in the January 2011 “Women In Music” issue of
AirPlay Direct’s The Direct Buzz (with Dolly Parton and others) and in a lengthy cover story in
Baton Rouge’s own City Social (November 2010). They recently served as Grand Marshals of
the Walker, Louisiana, Mardi Gras Parade on February 19, 2011.

Internationally, music from their debut album is receiving airplay in Paris, France, on a radio
station that broadcasts from the Eiffel Tower, and in Queensland, Australia, among others.
The rising duo will be performing at the Copper Country Music Festival on Sept. 3, 2011, in
Copper Mountain, Colorado on a bill that also includes Jimmie Vaughan, North Mississippi
