Friday, June 22nd – Friday, July 20th (5 days per week) No class meetings on July 4th

CLAREMONT HIGH SCHOOL COURSES
Algebra Fundamentals This course reviews the concepts needed to be prepared for Algebra 1.
This class meets 6 hrs/day for 2 weeks from June 22nd – July 6th with no meeting on July 4th.
Foundations This course is designed to develop the skills and capacities necessary to be
successful in high school in general. This class meets 6 hrs/day for 2 weeks from July 9th – July
20th.
Composition 1 This course is designed to further develop writing skills needed to be successful
in high school English courses. This class meets 3 hrs/day from June 22nd – July 20th from 8:00 –
11:00 AM
Journalism This course serves as a prerequisite for Journalism 2 and is recommended for
yearbook. This class meets 6 hrs/day from July 9th – July 20th.
Forensics (Speech/Debate) June 25th – July 20th (1:00 PM – 5:00 PM)
Complete registration form on the back. Turn the registration form into the CHS front
office by May 14th for priority registration. Office hours are from 7:30 – 4:00 PM.
ENROLLMENT INFORMATION
Session 1 is from June 22nd – July 6th with Wednesday, July 4 observed as a holiday.
One absence is allowed.
Session 2 is from July 9th - July 20th. One absence is allowed.
Turn in registration form to Claremont High School’s front office by May 14th for
priority registration. Office hours are from 7:30 – 4:00 PM.
There will be no exceptions to the attendance policy. One absence will be allowed. On
the 2nd absence the student will be dropped. 1 tardy = 1/2 absence. Missing 20 minutes
or more of a class equals 1 absence. Any school suspension will result in removal from
Summer School.
5 elective credits will be earned per class.
Be aware that the courses above are contingent on student enrollment. If a class’
enrollment drops to a point that the class can not be funded, the class may be dropped
at any time with no credit being awarded the student.

Any inappropriate behavior will be cause for being dropped from the course.
