PROGRAM(S) ASSESSED:                                ATS TECHNICAL STUDY PROGRAM
                                                    WRIGHT STATE UNIVERSITY – LAKE CAMPUS

ASSESSMENT COORDINATOR:                             GREGORY SCHUMM, ASSOCIATE DEAN

YEAR ONE (1) of a THREE (3)-YEAR CYCLE


    1.        ASSESSMENT MEASURES EMPLOYED

                  Conducted phone survey of employers who have hired ATS graduates. Purpose
                   of this survey was to obtain recommendations on broad-based technology
                   applications that graduates have upon completion of degree.
                  Conducted exit interviews with graduates to assess their employment success
                   upon graduation and how broad-based curriculum benefited them in job
                   placement or advancement.
                  Conducted pre-graduation interview to assess student satisfaction with program
                   structure.

    2.         ASSESSMENT FINDINGS

                  Objective 1: Enhance employment opportunities with a broad-based technology
                   curriculum.
                  Objective 2: Be able to seamlessly articulate program of study to a baccalaureate
                   degree in Organizational Leadership.

                  Outcome 1: Student’s ability to apply a variety of industry standards and business
                   applications.
                  Outcome 2: Student’s ability to demonstrate an understanding of the economic
                   environment of both business and industry.

                  We found that students were able to find employment in a variety of business and
                   industry fields due to their broad-based curriculum of study.
                  We found that several students decided to continue their studies by pursuing the
                   BS degree in Organizational Leadership.
                  Found that by requiring an economic class, students seem more aware of
                   economic environment of both business and industry.

    3.        PROGRAM IMPROVEMENTS

                  Have looked at increasing the number of business courses in the program’s
                   technical core as recommended courses of study due to positive feedback from
                   both business/industry and students.

    4.        ASSESSMENT PLAN COMPLIANCE

                  We were able to focus on the Program Assessment Plan Objectives and Learning
                   Outcomes and did not experience any deviation from the plan.

    5.        NEW ASSESSMENT DEVELOPMENTS

                  Was able to develop an Outcomes Assessment (Model) based on Program Inputs,
                   Program Operation, and Outcome Measures that helps us better visualize
                   Outcome Assessment. See attached "Outcome Assessment Model."
