Virtue of the Week: Gentleness                               October 5th – Wednesday Bulletin

          Principal’s News

This Monday, October 10th, is our annual Donuts for Dads’ Day, from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. We will begin
our morning at 8:00 a.m. with donuts and coffee for Dads only in the church hall. At 8:30 a.m., the Dads
visit their children in the classroom. (Please do not bring a donut to your child’s class.) The children love
showing their fathers what they do every day.

Our winter uniform policy begins this Monday, October 10th. Please refer to your school handbook for
more information. Girls in 5th – 8th grade must wear their school vest, oxford shirt and skirts. Boys in 5th –
8th grade must wear the school tie. No shorts for everyone.

We will be having a Mission Mass on October 13th at 1:45 p.m. All children in Pre-K through 8th grade will
be responsible for bringing in food items for St. Martins food pantry and money for the missions. Money
will be collected at mass, and the food may be brought in at any time prior to the mass. Please see the
enclosed flyer regarding our collecting food, and the students will come home with an envelope for money
to feed the poor. Everyone is invited to our mass.

Enclosed is important information regarding the Archdiocese of Washington Tuition Assistance Program.
Please go to to fill out your form. Deadline is December 2, 2011. You MUST fill
out this form to receive any tuition assistance from St. Bartholomew School.

Mark your calendars; we will be having our Halloween Parade on Monday, October 31st at 1:15 p.m.
Parents are invited to the parade. Children will bring their costume to school that day and change before
the parade. Teachers will help students get dressed. No parents are needed to help with costume changes

Home & School News

Meeting our fundraising goals happens one fundraiser at a time. This wrapping sale can provide thousands
of dollars towards our goal of adding play equipment to our campus, improving our computer lab, and
other school improvements – all of which add to the quality of your child’s daily experiences at school.

We cannot succeed without you. Every order, no matter how small, counts and helps us get on our way
towards these goals. Please send in your order today – we really need every family to participate to make

The September Home & School Meeting minutes are enclosed for your convenience. Our next H&SA
meeting is November 2nd, 8:15 a.m., in the church hall. Everyone is invited to attend.

September Morning& Aftercare Bills

Enclosed please find your September childcare bill if your child was in morning and/or aftercare. Payments
are due upon receipt. Please keep a copy of your bills because we do not send home tax receipts. Checks
are payable to St. Bartholomew School.

Tuition & Childcare Bills

Report cards for 1st – 8th grade will be sent home on November 9th. Unfortunately, all tuition and childcare
bills must be up-to-date in order for you to receive them. Also, Catholic high schools will not receive any
grades, recommendations, etc. until your payment is current.

                 Save the Date for the Annual Fall Festival and Book Fair at St. Barts!!!
                         Saturday, November 5th from 10 am - 2 pm,

Have your whole family join us for a wonderful fall morning where you can purchase quality books, hand
selected by our own Mrs. Davison, for children of all ages. In addition to stocking up on books for your own
family, you can donate a book to the school library or your child's classroom. Every book available at the
school enriches the lives of your child and his or her peers!
The fair also will have, a moon bounce, a bake sale, pizza and hotdogs, and more for you to enjoy. Stock
up early for the holidays with toy and gift vendors, including:
        Diana Carter’s Jewelry, Monogram Me with Scout bags and more;
        Rockville's Child's Play Toy Store- a premium toy and game store;
        Harriet Damelin with a selection of fine gifts, stationery, holiday gifts & sterling silver jewelry;

Benefits: a percentage of purchases go back to St. Bart’s, over 100 books donated to the library last year,
Remember, a percentage of all your purchases that day benefit’s the school. So, don't miss out on a fun
morning with your family, and a chance to get early for the holidays - all while helping our school.

       CYO Basketball Registration Begins For Grades 3rd – 8th
