Periodical holdings listed by subject
This is a list of periodical titles and holdings arranged by subject. Unless otherwise noted, all titles are in the Periodicals
Department on the sixth floor of the FIT Library. Some materials are available for browsing in the open stacks, but most
materials in this department are in the closed stacks behind the Periodicals Service Desk. To find complete bibliographic
and holdings information, search for the periodical title in StyleCat Online Catalog.

Note, our holdings may be missing individual issues or groups of issues within the available date range. If you are looking
for a specific issue of a magazine or journal, please search our holdings in StyleCat or call the Periodicals Department at
(212) 217-4380 to check availability.

This list does not include many periodicals held only in Special Collections. See Periodicals in Special Collections on
the Periodicals Department website or search StyleCat to find these titles.

Guide to periodicals locations
At desk Most periodical titles are kept in the closed stacks behind the Periodicals Service Desk on the
sixth floor of the FIT Library. A call slip must be filled out and presented at the desk with a
current FIT identification card in order to see these materials. Titles in closed stacks are marked
by a closed arrow in the title list.

Open stacks Some titles, especially back issues of trade magazines, are available for browsing in the open
stacks in the sixth floor reading room. No call slip is required to see these materials. Titles in
open stacks are marked by an open arrow in the title list.

Microfilm The Library’s collection of periodicals on microfilm is kept in the file cabinets in the sixth floor
reading room, directly across from the Periodicals Service Desk. There are two microfilm
machines nearby for viewing these materials. Library staff can help patrons who need
instruction on using the machines, but all microfilm is available by self-service and no call slip is
required. Titles on microfilm are marked by an open arrow in the title list.

Online Some of our subscriptions include online access. These “e-periodicals” can be accessed from
either a computer on the FIT campus or at an off-campus location. Most require an FIT
username and password, but some are freely accessible to everyone. Online titles are marked
by an open arrow in the title list.
Only online content that we receive as part of a subscription is included in this list. Additional
full-text content is available for many titles (not just the ones listed here) via online databases
                 accessible through our website.
