Completeness of application (including the submission of a principal endorsement);
Submission by the application deadline: September 24, 2010
Evidence of a commitment by the applicant to professional development and/or higher education;
Evidence of a likely, positive effect on the applicant's classroom instruction;
Congruence between the applicant's qualifications and the program objectives
Must be employed full-time in a northern Nevada school district as a grade 4 or 5 teacher.
Responsibilities of Participants
Teachers selected for this program will be expected to participate fully and constructively in all
activities scheduled as part of that program, including attendance at all sessions and completion of all
reading and writing assignments.
Payment of stipend of $960 is contingent upon successful completion of the program.
In order to facilitate the work of satisfying grant and WCSD requirements, participating teachers will
submit all requested paperwork and materials in a timely manner.
Enrollment is limited to 25 teachers
All applicants will be notified by September 30, 2010 regarding their acceptance into the yearlong

WCSD's TAHP (Teaching American History Project) Grant
The teacher named above is applying for the yearlong Elementary History Cohort professional
development activities offered as part of WCSD's Teaching American History Project grant. Teachers
that are accepted will attend approximately 50 hours of professional development, including 2 days
during contract hours. All substitutes will be paid for by the Teaching American History grant. The
application process requires teachers to secure the endorsement of their principals using this form.
