Elements, Compounds & Mixtures Revision D. Crowley, 2007 Elements, Compounds & Mixtures Revision To be able to use revision techniques effectively Revision You now have this lesson, and one more to come up with a revision session to help you prepare for your exam The topics the exam will cover are listed - in groups of three you need to produce a revision guide for your topic As a class, we will then copy these for everyone to take Your revision preparation could be a poster; a news report; a demonstration, a play etc… (the more original the better)! But, whatever your produce, you must accompany this with a key notes page which we can photocopy for the whole class! Topics Choose, between you as a class, one of the following topics - use as many resources as you can for information, but make sure we have only the key notes! 1. Elements, compounds, mixtures (definitions etc…) 2. Periodic table (what it shows etc…) 3. Elements combining (+ word equations) 4. Chemical formula (and what it tells us) 5. Separating mixtures (filtration; evaporation; distillation; chromatography) 6. Melting & boiling points
