                                      5. SPECIFICATIONS

SCOPE

The intention of this Harris County Invitation To Bid (ITB) is to solicit bids for a term contract to
furnish and deliver law enforcement vehicle partitions and related items for Fleet Services
Department in the quantities estimated herein, to be delivered to 426 Austin, Houston, Texas
77002-2102.

DESCRIPTION

The contractor shall furnish, and deliver as required, if required, law enforcement vehicle
partitions and related items designed for use in full size and mid size passenger cars that meet, or,
approximately meet, the following description:

       full shield partition with horizontal sliding window, 1/4” polycarbonate, positive locking,
       lexan type window with all hardware and installation instructions required to install
       partitions into law enforcement vehicles. 100% parts and labor warranty for twelve (12)
       months with local parts and service (re: Pro-Gard model 3B2200)

          roll bar construction with electric weld, 1600 psi, schedule 80 tubing, minimum
           15 welds to tubing
          41” guardplate to top bar
          extruded aluminum channel window frame, 1” higher opposite prisoner side
          grade #5, upper partition support bracket mounting bolts
          guard plate welded inside of tubing
          1 piece, full side molded, side filler panels


Related Items: Bidder may offer for sale additional items related to the scope of goods and/or
services described above and/or listed in the Pricing/Delivery Information Section of this ITB by
identifying other items and/or brands not identified by Harris County in this ITB. Though the
“related items” offered may be considered during the award recommendation, and/or may be
made a part of a subsequent contract, if any, with Harris County, the affect of the related items
cannot be extended and totaled in determining the lowest bidder since an estimated usage is
unknown. Purchases by Harris County of related items should not exceed 20% of the total
annual purchases under the contract.
