					Dear Interested Students & Parents:
The following information is regarding this yearʼs Talent Show Extravaganza 2009 If you have any
questions please contact Mrs. Novack prior to the audition dates. The best way to contact is ~
novack.karen@d46.k12.il.us All students must complete a participation audition form followed by an
individual parent permission slip.

                         "Frederick & GMS" Talent Show Extravaganza 2009
What type of Acts: Singing, Dancing, Bands, Routines, and any other
interesting acts!!!
Auditions: Tuesday, April 14th for 7th-8th grade @ GMS 3:30 (Small Gym)
            Wednesday, April 15th, 5th-6th grade @ Frederick @ 3:30 (Multipurpose Room)
Announcers; Student announcers who wish to audition for introducing acts will be done on
Thursday, April 16th, at 3:30 p.m. in the music room. This is offered to only GMS 7th & 8th
graders who have completed “Public Speaking”.

Results: Final results will be posted on Friday, April 17th at 3:00 p.m. in your school lunchroom.

Rehearsals: Monday, May 11th-Thursday, Mary 14th, 3:30-6:00 @ GMS (Large Gym)
               Important notice ~ you or your full group must all rehearsals! Your first rehearsal will
consist of stage blocking. Your next set of rehearsals will involve your COSTUME and Lighting.
                   Performance ~ Friday, May 15th, 7:00 p.m. @ GMS (Large Gym)

Students are to arrange own rides for rehearsal dates and performance of the show. All
rehearsals will be held at GMS starting @ 3:30 p.m., On Friday, May 15th, students are to arrive
back stage 45 minutes prior to show event for check-in.

Final Reminder:
Students must complete the following registration information and turn-in the day of auditions.  All
forms will be available at your school. Also, visit your school web-site.

1.  Complete Audition Form Act (Each group will complete one form)
2.  Complete Individual Parent Permission Slip Form (All students participating must have a signed
parent permission slip)
3.  If your song has lyrics you "MUST" include a lyric sheet and cd recording.
4.  Students may audition up to 2 acts for the show.  They are to be "2" different acts.  Not the same.  
5.  Students must be D46 students from Frederick or GMS.  They can combine a act between both
schools
6. Students/Groups must have appropriate clothing for audition/performance night.

Note ~ All music must be "Disney Rating" or "Student Cut Version". This is
known at the “Squeaky Clean” version. Students who are auditioning with a vocal
track MUST audition with proper karaoke track at the time of auditions. If you have
questions or concerns please contact your building principal regarding appropriate
music and lyrics for a general audience.
Complete: You/Your group is to complete an “Audition Form”. You are to PRINT!!! Clearly for this. Include your first
and last name, homeroom/team color. And any other necessary information regarding your act for a proper audition. If you
are in a group, you need to complete only one form. If you are doing another act, you are to complete 2 forms. All students
must individually submit a parent permission slip signed and dated. If you are the only person in your act, complete just the
top line of each area. All costumes must be present the day of auditions.

Part II. What are you doing? ~ Type of performance



Part III. Music Selection. You are to include a set of lyrics stapled to your audition sheet~ List
your song here. This should be “TITLE” and Arranger/Performer/Artist. The actual cd to be used.



Part IV. Needs/Set-up. What will you need for your performance? Note, we only have 2 extension
chords available. All bands need to provide ~ chords, amps, cables and equipment.



Part V. Costume Idea? Please give us a proper costume idea for your act if you are waiting to see if
you make the show. You can include this as a part of your act for purpose of stage appearance and points.

All students are to submit an “INDIVIDUAL parent permission slip form. This must be handed in on
the day of your audition. You will not be able to stay after school and participate without this form.
Each member may attach this to the audition form as he or she registers. Again, it is stressed that each
member MUST have a completed parent signature.

Parent Signature: I give my child permission to participate in the CCSD#46 2009 Talent Show
Extravaganza Auditions. I am aware of the audition and the rehearsals for the show. I am also aware
of the lyrics selected for my childs/groups audition. I am to be available to pick my child up after they
have completed auditions and during all rehearsals. I am aware that a LYRIC sheet must accompany
my childs auditions.

           Karaoke tracks are available on-line at a variety of web sites or at “Wal-Mart”.
 Students of the Extravaganza 2009 will not be able to sing with a professional recording of a famous
 musician and or vocalist without the proper copyright laws of the Music Association Industry! Stick
                                  with the Karaoke proper material!
