Subject: 2011 PA COUNCIL OF TU – FALL MEETING
Date: October 3, 2011.
The fall meeting took place at the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat, Stackhouse Training Facility in
Bellefonte, PA; Saturday and Sunday, October 1 and 2 , 2011.
Representing CVTU were board members Messrs. Rowland Harrison and Eric Edstrom,
Introduction and Welcome by Ken Undercoffer, PA TU President
TU National – Bryan Moore, VP/Membership Coordinator.
Land ownership – requires prior TU approval
Emphasis on sustaining and protection – cold water
Enhanced TU web site with an emphasis on recreation
Chapters will have an improved ability to manage their roster
TU National - Wes Tetsworth, Volunteer Coordinator.
Cold Water Summit – October 22 – Shepherdstown, VA – see website for details
Financial reports due 9/30/2011.
Embrace a Stream grants due by 11/12/2011.
Bylaws – State Council and National must review and obtain approval.
Medical and Accidental insurance premium now due.
TU National - Kevin Anderson, Chesapeake Bay and Land Protection.

Giving TU a Voice – Kathy Dunlap, ESQ. – cautioned chapters and members about giving
endorsements or support to “other groups” which may conflict with TU policy.
Preventing the Introduction and Spread of Aquatic Invasive Species – Bob Morgan, PFBC
Biologist – extensive presentation on fish, mollusks, and plants etc. invading streams and rivers
and bank areas.
Beyond Trout in the Classroom – Amidea Daniel, PFBC and Paige Filice, PATU AmeriCorps –
contact for program support.
Nymph fishing Spring Creek – George Daniel, USA Fly Fishing Coach and former USA Fly
Fishing Champion – Flies, lines, drag, presentation and fish location. He will soon publish his own
book – “Dynamic Nymphing” – look for it soon.
Edstrom informed the council of CVTU’s “Golden Trout Award” for 2011; highlighting the “Street
to Streams” program, the USAWC “EAGLES” program, Reel Recovery, Project Healing Waters,
Trout in the Class Room and the Big Spring - LeTort Run - Yellow Breeches projects by CVTU.
Several handouts were distributed as follows. These will be given to the CVTU chapter president
for review and further distribution.
