INTRODUCTION
TO THE TEACHER:
This is a list of all of the new English language words occurring in the
New Century School IT Curriculum at Levels 1-6. It shows you the
scope of the English language relative to this subject, and the amount of
English language that students should know by the end of Level Six
The words are listed in the textbooks in two ways:
1. At the end of each unit (Adventure) each new words is listed with its
explanation.
2. At the end of each Module all new words in that Module are listed in
alphabetical order without explanation.
In this document all words for Levels 1-6 are listed with explanations.
USING THIS WORD LIST
The words in this word list can be used instructionally in several ways.
Below are two suggestions:
1. IT Teachers:
You can use this list a personal guide list of the vocabulary associated
with Information technology. These are the English words that students
need to know to successfully complete the Information technology
program. You can use it to compile comprehensive tests and guessing
games in class. You can also use it in your own lesson preparations to
ensure that students are mastering the words.
2. English Teachers:
You can use this list as an introductory vocabulary list in English
language classes, with the knowledge that students will have
encountered the words in IT classes or will encounter them in the future.
3. All Teachers:
You can cross-reference this list with the word lists in the New Century
School Web Site. The address is:
