  SUBJECT:      2006-2007 VFC Influenza Vaccine Availability



  The VFC Program has distributed all VFC influenza vaccine available through the CDC contract.
  Iowa Medicaid will reimburse practitioners for influenza immunizations provided from private
  stock when VFC vaccine is not available. Substitute code 90749 for private stock vaccine for
  90658 (influenza virus vaccine, split virus, for use in individuals 3 years of age and above, for
  intramuscular use). The vaccine administration code may be billed in addition to 90749. This
  will allow for electronic submission of your claims.
