parenting tips below are for you!

From the day that you bring your child home from the
hospital, pay attention to your tone and the words that you use when you talk. If you want your
child to grow up to be a happy and kind individual, you need to model that behavior. This
includes speaking nicely to your partner and giving lots of hugs and kisses to every member of
your family.

Listen to your own intuition when it comes to co-sleeping with your baby. It is not recommended
that you do this on a daily basis, however, provided certain steps are taken to protect the child, it
is sometimes acceptable to allow the baby to sleep in your bed with you. This is particularly
soothing to the baby when it wakes in the middle of the night and is having difficulty resettling.

Establish clear rules in your family. This lets children know what their boundaries are. It also
helps them to understand why you are disciplining them if the need should arise. Some rules
should apply to everyone, even adults. If you can let your child have a say in establishing some
of the rules that can also help.

Need a break from parenting but can't afford a babysitter? Give a play date a try. A well set up
play date will give your child some extra socialization and stimulation. In addition, you'll get to
enjoy some adult time with the other parents who are present.

It is important that you limit what and how much your child eats a young age. By letting them eat
whatever and how much they want, they will stick to this behavior and end up becoming obese.
For example, instead of a bag of chips for a snack, over a small bowl of grapes.

If you have multiple children, make sure you're spending time with each of them separately, as
well as in a group. Spending time with each child individually, helps you bond with them and
gives them a sense of uniqueness. You want your children to know that you love them all equally
and that they all deserve time with you.

Although it may be uncomfortable for you, it is vital that you teach your teenager about sex as
early as possible. It is better that they learn the information from you rather than another source.
early as possible. It is better that they learn the information from you rather than another source.
Also, you are able to teach them how to protect themselves before they become sexually active.

Start giving your child healthy treats from the beginning. By offering sugary snacks and other
unhealthy treats as either the normal snack or as a reward for good behavior, you are setting up
patterns that will be very hard to break. Instead build those patterns with goodies that help them
build healthy choices for years to come!

Don't use "Because I said so" as an answer to your children when they ask why. Explain your
reasoning to them and they're more likely to listen to you and do what you ask them to without
arguing. Your children will respect you a lot more if you explain the reasons you have them do
certain things.

Meet your middle schooler at his locker when you are picking him up after school. You can use
the opportunity to help him organize and clean out some of the mountains of paper that he seems
to never have time to throw away when he is rushing between classes. Who knows? He might
even make more of an effort from now on!

Part of parenting is teaching life lessons through fun activities. One way to do this is to get
creative in the kitchen. Allow your child to select and use cookie cutters to cut nutritious food into
fun shapes. Let them enjoy a shark-shaped grilled cheese sandwich with their low-sodium
tomato soup. This makes eating nutritious food fun and teaches your child good nutritional habits.

Talk to your insurance agent about safe driving programs and suggestions, before your teen gets
their driver's license. Most insurance companies offer free or low-cost programs designed to
improve driver safety for new drivers and knowing that your child is aware of basic safety
guidelines helps your peace of mind, especially behind the wheel!

Get your child into a daily routine and be consistent with it. This can help your child feel stable at
home and with every day activities. Keep meal times, bath times and study times consistent. This
will also help you stay more organized and helps to keep your day together.

By following those tips you can prepare yourself, your spouse, and your family for a new member
to join the scene and be ready for some of the surprises that come your way. Nothing is better
than being educated about parenting before you actually have to begin attempting it. Hopefully
this article has helped you achieve that on some level and you are ready to manage the task at
