The Ministry of the Attorney General, Criminal Law Division, is seeking an Assistant Crown Attorney in
the St Catharines Crown Attorney's Office, to perform prosecutorial and administrative duties.
Duties Will Include: Preparing cases and conducting prosecutions for criminal and quasi-criminal
offences in the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice; providing professional advice
to policy, related agencies, and the general public on criminal matters; drafting indictments, examining
informations and other documents; assisting other counsel with prosecutions, research, etc.; assisting in
the administration of the Crown Attorney's office.
What we are looking for: Membership in the Law Society of Upper Canada; knowledge of the
Criminal Code of Canada, Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, criminal law procedures, rules of
evidence and case law; good judgment and analytical ability to determine appropriate legal remedies;
excellent understanding of the role and function of a prosecutor in the criminal justice system in
Ontario; excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills, ability to use computer.
