More Info
Lobos Management’s Eagle Nook community in South Park offers quick
access to both city and country, making it a highly desirable location for Steel
City suburbanites.

Located at 7000 Helen Street, Eagle Nook is just blocks from several area
parks and recreation facilities. Evans Park – just off of Triphammer Road –
houses seven baseball / softball fields, soccer fields, and a playground area
where families gather for the community’s Little League tournaments and
soccer matches. Evans Park, though, is just one of many parks in and around
South Park. Round Hill Park hosts monthly community events including
seminars on the history and production of maple syrup, outdoor survival
courses, and traditional old-time hayrides. Round Hill also has a working
modern farm where park visitors can participate in shearing sheep and
engage in many aspects of animal husbandry – a perfect place for children to
learn about farming, animals, and nature all within minutes of Eagle
Nook. Mingo Creek County Park is one of the area’s few recreation facilities
designed specifically for equestrians and casual horse riders. The park offers
fifteen miles of bridle trails which snake through two scenic covered bridges
and across a natural spring.

The most notable and largest park in the area, however, is the township’s
namesake: South Park. With an 18-hole golf course, six tennis courts, a wave
pool, basketball and volleyball courts, an ice skating rink, and an outdoor
amphitheater, South Park is a destination for many of the area residents. The
wave pool – open from the first Saturday in June until Labor Day each year –
offers an affordable way for families to stay cool during the summer months.
Also located at the park are the Allegheny County Gardens where classes on
gardening, flower identification, and preservation are offered throughout the
year. The Gardens also host an annual Edible Flowers Festival which is
currently in its twelfth year.

Aside from the many parks, Eagle Nook offers easy access to shopping,
movies, and culture. The Waterfront shopping complex in Homestead /
Munhall is a short trip from South Park and offers many chain stores,
restaurants, as well as the city’s largest movie theater, AMC Lowe’s. The
Waterfront complex is home to retail giants Costco and Target, Dick’s
Sporting Goods, and dozens of other national retail chains. For dining, the
Waterfront celebrates a wide variety of options ranging from modern Chinese
cuisine at P.F. Chang’s to gastropub fare at RockBottom…and everything in
between.
This Lobos Management property’s location is perfect for those wanting to be
close to the culture of the city while living in the scenic suburbs. With the
abundance of area parks and recreational facilities, Eagle Nook offers the
best of both worlds – city living in a relaxed and natural environment. For
