                 ARC can send individuals to Operation Help* for food, and it does not have to be disaster related. If it
                 is disaster related, then ARC can help with clothing, shelter, food, prescriptions, counseling, etc.

               AWCC is able to help clients that have been in domestic violence circumstances. AWCC also continues
                 to aid families once they have transitioned out of the residential program. While funds allow, AWCC is
                 able to help with utilities furniture, clothes, diapers and food as their supply permits.

County Healthcare / Assistance…

           (Adams County) Health Clinic:              Location: Service Complex, rm 320      Hrs: M-F 8:00 – 4:30 pm
               Health care service provided: Low income family planning, under-insured childhood immunizations,
               communicable diseases, detection, low-income breast and cervical cancer screening program. Other
               community health services.
           Needymeds.com:              A user friendly website that provides medication assistance for those that qualify
               for medication assistance. Assistance is still needed from physicians for scripts and paperwork.
           Familywise Prescription Drug Card:                     (for information) Call United Way: 728-2056
               This is available through the local libraries (Adams County) call for more info: Decatur: 724-2605
               Even those on insurance could qualify for this program. Call to see if this would work for you.

               This prescription card is through the National Association of Counties. Cards are available at each of the
               libraries and many of the pharmacies. The United Way sponsored prescription card (mentioned above)
               does not conflict with this. It is recommended that each person check with the pharmacist on which
               would be most beneficial for each prescription as it can vary by prescription.


o Adams Memorial Hospital…services
        Alternative to COBRA:
            HIP (Healthy Indiana Plan): A state program developed to help those unemployed for 6 months
            or more. Selected physicians accept this.
            Questions? Contact Adams Memorial Hospital at 260-724-2145 x1500 (Beth Bedwell).
           Hoosier Healthwise: A state Medicaid Program for those families that meet income eligible
           guidelines for their family size. To sign up for Hoosier Healthwise, stop at the old Leland Smith
           Building at the corner of 1st and Monroe. This is: Resources, Division of Family (see pg 2)
        Alternative to Emergency Room:
            StatCare: An urgent care clinic located within Adams Memorial Hospital (near the Emergency
            Department). StatCare is a less expensive alternative to the Emergency Room when your
            physician’s office is closed. This is a walk-in clinic (no appointments necessary).
            Questions? Contact Adams Memorial Hospital at 260-724-2145 x 1818.
               Hours: Mon-Fri: 4:30 pm to 9:30 pm, Sat: 10 am to 2 pm, and Sun: 12 noon to 4pm.
        Direct Access Lab Testing:
            Adams Memorial Hospital offers a service which allows a client to specific lab tests without a
            physician’s order or waiting for specific Health Fair dates. Prices are affordable (several of the
            tests will be priced exactly like the hospital’s traditional Health Fairs).
            Results will be sent directly to the client’s home within a week.
            Hours for Direct Access Lab Testing: Mon-Fri: 8am to 4:30pm.
            Location: Enter the Emergency Department Entrance; proceed to Corporate Medical Services
            for registration, payment, and the testing. FYI – costs at the hospital…
