TOUR OF THE MARK TWAIN HOUSE & MUSEUM – JUNE 23
Education Committee has arranged a chance to see the Mark Twain House and
Next Newsletter June 15, 2012 Museum on June 23rd. Besides visiting the home of the
great American writer, you can get a chance to learn more about Mark Twain, his
family and his writings at the museum. Afterwards you
can do some shopping in The Mark Twain Museum Store or have lunch at the four-
star restaurant Murasaki, with its selection of both
American and Japanese food. The cost is $8 for TTEC Club members and $11 for
any other adult. A ticket for children from 6 to 16 is $7. The tour will start at 11:00

CLASSES at CAPITAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Travelers Education Committee and Capital Community College have arranged Wednesday classes in June and July. Minimum number
of students required per class is 5. The time for the classes is from 12 noon to 1. The room will be decided on after the Monday deadline,
depending on the student totals. Then confirmation of the class and the room location will be sent out once the class is a definite. The
College is located at 950 Main Street.

STATE CAPITOL TOUR - JULY 10
A tour has been set up on Tuesday, July 10 at 11:15. The tour will last about an hour. Learn the history of the Capitol Building; View
items important to the history of Connecticut; Visit the Hall of Flags; Learn about the Legislative process; Observe the proceedings pf
the General Assembly; and tour the Modern Legislative Office Building. There is no charge for this event. To reserve your spot for this

The 2012 Travelers Championship will take place from Monday, June 18 – Sunday, June 24, at the TPC River Highlands in Cromwell,
Conn. It promises to be another exciting event with commitments from 2011 champion Fredrik Jacobsen, Master’s champion Bubba

Come enjoy the excitement and history of thoroughbred horse racing at New York’s Summer Place to be…Saratoga Springs! TTEC is

SIX FLAGS NEW ENGLAND SEASON AND DAY PASSES
TTEC is again offering passes to Six Flags New England in Agawam, MA. Season Passes are back this year (available until August 1,
2012). The cost for a Season Pass is $55.00 and a Day Pass costs $31.00. Day Passes can be upgraded at the park the day you go for an
additional $24.99. Remember the passes are valid at the Agawam, MA Park only and that the Season Passes must be used there first and

HARTFORD MARATHON FOUNDATION VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Please check your calendars June 3rd. This is an event that the Hartford Marathon Foundation is hosting and they welcome your support
to make it safe and successful.
. June 3rd is the Iron Horse 5K, 10K and half marathon. Course monitors are needed as we host three events simultaneously in Simsbury.
We need numerous course monitors throughout all three routes to provide a safe event for all of the runners.

EYEGLASS COLLECTION BOXES
Starting in April, eyeglass collection boxes will be placed in the following locations: in the Hartford office by the escalators and in the
Plaza Building by the bus ticket counters, the Windsor Street office and the DiscoverRe office near Zeti Van Riel. Collect all the old
glasses that you, your family or friends no longer need or want and deposit them in these boxes where they will be sent to third-world
