To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Tom Knox and I am a very creative and knowledgeable man. My
expertise is strong and my skills more diverse than most others you will see. Rather than
limit my resume to a typical sales pitch I am giving you the opportunity to see all my
skills.
My goal is to attain a challenging position that allows me to be creative and make
lots of money at the same time. I am looking for a respectable position with regular hours
and a work product that is tangible and ethical.
Some of the areas that interest me are graphic design, inventing, computer
systems and designs, engineering, commercial art, digital photography, film, video,
photoshop image manipulation, advertising, technical training, animation, science,
physics, astronomy, space, SETI, military aircraft and weapons, signal processing
technologies, cryptography, data compression, interface technologies (I/O), sensors,
building computers, computer networking, 802.11b/g etc, computer games, tattoo art,
technical writing, and anything new or cutting edge.
I thrive in free working environments that encourage experimentation and
implementation without asking for permission. The best advice I ever received was “ It is
better to ask for forgiveness than permission” . This phrase is a powerful motivator.
Give me an opportunity to contribute and you will be glad you hired me.
Sincerely,
Tom Knox

An Interview with Tom Knox
1. Where do you see yourself in five years?
In five years I would like to be considered your most creative and valuable worker with
at least 50 successful projects in my portfolio. At least one of these should be a major
marketing campaign recognized by most people in the United States. I would like to have
some of my photography featured in Shutterbug Magazine and Digital Photography
Magazine.
2. Why do you want this job?
I want to find a position where my creativity and knowledge can be harnessed to create
income for my family.
3. What can you do to bring a different approach to the position?
I tend to think outside the box so you can count on a fresh approach. My computer skills
allow me to approach projects in many different directions.
4. When did you first start using computers?
Over 20 years ago I became interested in computers.
5. How well would you work in a creative group?
I enjoy working on creative projects and working with more creative people is a positive
situation.
6. Why should I hire you?
You will be making the right choice to hire me because I am a hard worker and have the
right skills and creativity ideas to help your company grow.
7. Where did you grow up?
Conyers, Georgia, USA
8. Who are your heroes?
This is a hard question because there are so many good choices. I will give you three
answers.
First on my list is Orville“Dutch” Ruff. Uncle Dutch was the most kind hearted and
responsible man I ever met. He raised a large multi-generational family and still found
time to be there for everyone. He was modest yet everyone knew that he was a great
man. He was smart, creative, wise, friendly, honest, caring, and loving all at the same
time. He was always perplexed at the wrongs of the world but never let that deter him
from doing the right thing.
Second I would have to pick Barbara Knox, my wife, because I believe in her and she
believes in me. We can always count on each other to do the right thing. She is my best
friend and has stuck with me through the good and the bad. Barbara is a great teacher
formerly in the special education field and now tutoring students on an individual basis.
Perhaps for my third choice I should pick a famous person. This would have to be
someone who has always done the right thing and sacrificed for it. Instead of just picking
one famous person I am going to list several famous people who did the right things
according to their strong beliefs: John F. Kennedy, Robert Kennedy,
Martin Luther King Jr., Johnny Cash, John Lennon, Elvis Presley, and Roy Orbison.
9. What makes you angry?
People who fail to act in good faith. Examples would be superfluous.
10. Do you have any pets?
One cat and one dog. Our dog, Fred, is a miniature short hair dachshund. Willie is a black
cat with no tail.
11. Where were you on September 11, 2001?
I watched the live coverage as it happened on 9/11. I had just worked a night shift and
could not sleep any after watching the events develop during the morning and afternoon.
On my way to work I passed by the Cobb County Airport which is located directly across
from the National Guard in Kennesaw there were guards armed with machine guns and no
planes flying for several nights.
12. Are you willing to relocate?
Yes. I am willing to start work immediately at your location and will permanently
relocate.
