Past activities (last 6 months or whole year)
Since November 2008, the executive consisted of Barbara Ingram as Treasurer/Secretary, Anie
Najarian as Director of Communications and I (Lucy Lu) have acted as Chapter Co-ordinator/President.
The chapter executive worked together to compile and create a newsletter, updated our chapter brochure
and organized our AGM agenda and post-conference workshop for all of our members.
We had 4 teleconferences, and several emails between the executive and our members. Members
offered their input into the newsletter through article submissions, local activities, and positive feedback.
In February we sent out a hard copy of the newsletter to all members on our mailing list, as well as
posting it on our website.
Provinical representative Darci Adam ran a local meeting in Manitoba of professionals using the
creative arts in their counselling practice and wrote an article about the gathering in the newsletter. Our
Atlantic representative Andrea Johnson is also planning to organize a local meeting. The CAC chapter
offered a $50 incentive to representatives to organize meetings and events to cover the costs of the
meeting (food, flyers, materials etc.) We are still currently looking for provincial representatives to fill all
the positions. Members also ran local activities to promote the Creative Arts Therapies Week in March

For the upcoming CCA conference, we are planning to make our selves visible by having a Creative Arts
in Counselling Chapter table near the registration desk; we are holding our AGM and executive elections
on May 22nd at 8 am to 8:30 am and running a Playback workshop later that day for our chapter members
from 2-3:30p. We hope these initiatives will help generate some interest in our chapter and a sense of
community amongst the existing members.
We plan to recruit members to fill positions chapter executives-elect, in order to allow members to
shadow positions and ensure chapter continuity when executive terms have been filled.
This Summer/Fall we plan to begin another newsletter that will be posted on the website as a PDF.
