PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY FULLERTON Fullerton, CA 2001 – Present
Lecturer, Finance Department. Teach upper division Business Finance course required of
all Business Administration majors. Course includes financial markets and interest rates,
understanding financial statements, evaluation of financial performance, time value of
money, valuation and characteristics of stocks and bonds, capital budgeting, and cost of
capital.
Coordinator of the Business Finance Course. Coordinate approximately ten professors
who teach the course to approximately 1200 students each semester. Responsible for the
administration of the departmental examinations, publications, schedules and oversight with
respect to the course.
SILGAN CONTAINERS CORP. Woodland Hills, CA 1991 - 2001
Director of Finance. Responsible for the manufacturing cost analysis, capital budgeting,
corporate real estate, credit administration, cash management, insurance, contract price
administration for this food-packaging leader with annual sales of $1.5 billion dollars. The
company operated 40 plants within the United States.
Led company analysis, which resulted in the successful acquisition of Del Monte’s
packaging manufacturing facilities (nine plants) along with a ten-year supply agreement,
which increased sales by 40%.
Led analysis, which resulted in the acquisition of Campbell Soup Company can
manufacturing facilities (four plants) and a ten-year supply contract increasing sales by
$200 million dollars.
Installed LAN system to improve efficiency and communication within department.
Served as member of Inventory Control Steering Committee, which worked with
operations to successfully increase turnover ratio by 34%.
Managed corporate real estate transactions, which included the sale of five plants for an
excess of $3.0 million dollars over a three-year period. Negotiated a $5.0 million dollar
lease for corporate office facility.
Member of the President’s Continuous Improvement Steering Committee, which actively
involved the entire organization in ongoing improvement activities.
Reevaluated all banking relationships and negotiated new relationships in the areas of
concentration account, controlled disbursements accounts, and lockboxes which resulted
in $60 thousand dollars a year savings in float as well as improved security, service and
software.
Analyzed, recommended and presented multi-million dollar capital investments which
were reviewed and approved by the owners and Board of Directors of the company.

Plan and contributed to the Strategic Plan. Prepared Capital Budget and monitored capital

financial planning, feasibility studies, lease-buy analysis.

Cost Accountant. Performed monthly reconciliation of $80 million of finished goods
