              Priority for Student Performance:


             Priority for Student Performance -Pope HS will continue to refine our work in the areas of curriculum, instruction, and assessment specifically in the following areas: 1) what students should know, understand,
             and be able to do to master the GPS course standards, 2) common performance tasks for GPS courses, 3) rigor and relevance in all course offerings and 4) use of student work and formative assessments to modify
             instruction to meet students' needs. By using a collaborative model of Professional Learning Communities ("PLCs") in each content area, a focus on the Georgia School Keys of Curriculum, Instruction and
             Assessment will include data analysis of common formative assessments, adjustments to instruction including differentiaion and specialized instruction. The collaborative model also addresses the GAPPS
             committee feedback that we need to develop and use staff members' leadership skills, including mentoring and professional development programs, to support instructional leadership. Each PLC includes a
             designated "teacher leader," and these teams will assess and address professional learning needs throughout the faculty by departments in addition to a school-wide priority to increase the effective use of
             iRespond units in each content area. Data will be analyzed in PLC's from common formative assessments and benchmarks.




              Student Performance Goal:


             All students will maintain or improve performance on state and national tests. The number of National Merit Scholarships will increase as a result of the Princeton Review program implemented in 2011-2012.

                  Evidence of change from the 2010-2011 school year:Pope HS has made significant strides in increasing the student performance level for all students as evidenced by a
              substantial increase in participation in AP programs, 82% of students receiving a score of 3 or higher, the highest combined SAT score in Pope history, and an impressive gain in
                                                    the percent of students passing the GHSGT in all content areas and exceeding standards on the GHSWT.

             Based on what you have learned, list adjustments to your plan for next year:
             To continue to sustain our graduation rate, a greater emphasis will be placed upon year-long curriculum, instruction, assessment and remediation of students for either passing
             the applicable GHSGT, EOCT, or EOCT course for all students. Increasing the involvement of the community will be a focus as Pope strives to establish new partners in
             education, as well as strengthen prior relationships with previous and current partners. Educating our community on the accomplishments and needs of our students will be
             emphasized by increasing the communication levels by administration and teachers through public informational forums, conferences, consistently updated pinnacle
             utliization, and other methods of communication such as phone calls and emails indicating student learning performance.

focus on reinforcement of self-governance and self-improvement among students, as we design and implement programs to ensure their success in academics, as well as in leadership, athletics and Fine Arts.

The action plan for school performance was met as evidenced by the success of numbers of students participating in school-wide self-goverance and self-improvement in the areas of academics, leadership, athletics, and
Fine Arts. The school participated in several school-wide service projects which were very successful, including Rally For Foundation, Shop With A Greyhound, Hoops for Hope, and Relay for Life. The events were student-
led and implemented. Our academic emphasis to increase student learning for all levels was evidenced by our outstanding standardized test scores. The increase in communication to all stakeholders was evidenced in the
SI, with an increased rate of satisfaction by parents of 10.8 % from the previous year.

                     An areas of continued improvement will be to revise and update our electronic communication via our website. This was an area of decline from the previous year, and steps have been put into place to address this. Our
                     journalism class and teacher will now be responsible for the upkeep of our website which will allow Pope to communicate information in a timely manner to all stakeholders, as well as recognize student accomplishments
                     and achievements. The Principal Advisory Board has been developed for the 2011-2012 school year and plans to meet monthly to acquire feedback and revise procedures to address areas of the school performance action
                     plan.
