RESEARCH PAPER GUIDELINES
(Per your Syllabus with any modifications in red)
Cover page with all group member names include
Bibliography due per syllabus
Research topics must be approved in advance by Instructor.
Paper length: 15-20 pages of research content, double-spaced.
Use the following in the paper:
o Page numbers
Include bibliography at end of paper
Remember to use citations for any material or ideas
taken directly from your research sources. Not
acknowledging material drawn from others constitutes
Show the length of articles in your bibliography, not just
the page that the article starts on!
Use approved sources only (Journals in syllabus, etc.)
To be effective, research papers should use an analytical approach,
not just “about” a topic. Textbooks perform that function. Journal
articles are excellent sources for more analytical approaches to
Papers are due on the last day of class or sooner if possible.
Teams MAY use Powerpoint or overhead transparencies.
Ensure that all slides are visible! (Suggestion: 5-10 slides).
Don’t make slides too “busy”; keep them readable!
Don’t read the presentation to the class!
All team members must participate in the presentation.
Plan your presentation carefully. Strive for a logical flow.
Length: 5-7 – 7 minutes max! minutes including questions.
Get all students involved in some way – not all students are required to
actually present .
Rehearse your presentation!
Extra credit points for good snacks will be awarded!
Introduce team members.
Give students an opportunity to ask questions.
