Bethesda, MD, July 04, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Seth Kahan moderated a three-hour program, “Implementing
an Effective Hand Hygiene Program: Current Thought Leader Perspectives,” at the 2012 Association for
Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc. (APIC) Hand Hygiene Symposium, on Sunday,

world spoke before an audience of five hundred practitioners.

Kahan, a change leadership expert, bestselling author and highly regarded speaker, shared learning
objectives that included an “Ask the Experts” session on the following topics: 1) a review of the science
of alcohol-based hand rubs (ABHR) and the critical variables which influence their antimicrobial efficacy
and clinical effectiveness; 2) understanding key principles of point of care hand hygiene implementation;
(3) strategies and recent advances in hand hygiene compliance monitoring; and 4) an overview of the
challenges & opportunities of hand hygiene implementation in long-term care settings.

“It was an honor to be asked to moderate such an esteemed panel on a critical safety topic. Effective hand

implementing effective hand hygiene - it must be changed. This panel presented the data and known
solutions. I am proud to be associated with their work.”

practices and current industry information needed to create a world-class hand hygiene program at
healthcare facilities.
