GENERAL CONDITIONS OF CONTRACT
Some contracts will be awarded on an Award Letter (usually simple or low risk
contracts) and some contracts will be awarded on a formal Contract (usually complex
or higher risk contracts).
Where a contract is to be awarded on an Award Letter, a copy of the General
Conditions of Contract must go out as part of the tender documentation.
The General Conditions of Contract are geared more towards the supply of goods,
but in the absence of a formal contract, they form the basis of the contract along with
any Special Conditions of Contract documentation included in the tender.
The only field that can be amended is the Period of Contract, including the initial
period and any options for extensions.
