Julienne Meyer PhD MSc BSc Cert Ed (FE) RN RNT Professor of Nursing: Care for Older People St Bartholomew School of Nursing and Midwifery, City University, London, UK Professor Julienne Meyer is a registered nurse and qualified teacher, leading Adult Nursing Research at City University, London. She also has an Adjunct Professorship at the University of South Australia. Over the last eight years at City University she has developed a substantial portfolio of research focusing on Care for Older People. Sub-themes include: user and carer involvement, interprofessional working, workforce and practice development through action research, and the value and contribution of Nursing. Julienne has an international reputation for expertise in action research, qualitative methods and care for older people. She is co-editor of the International Educational Action Research Journal (linked to the Collaborative Action Research Network) and a member of the editorial boards for Qualitative Health Research, International Journal of Nursing Older People and Journal of Nursing Research. She also sits on an advisory committee for the International Association of Qualitative Inquiry. Her on-going research in the UK focuses on quality of care for older people, living and dying in care homes. She co-convenes the National Care Homes Research & Development Forum in the UK and has recently received Economic & Social Research Council funding to run a seminar series to widen debates nationally and internationally on this topic. Throughout her career she has blurred the boundaries between education, practice and research, working across traditional boundaries (lay and professional, health and social care, theory and practice).
