Creating a Web Site Using Google Page Creator
Go to http://pages.google.com
1. Create your account
Create a name
for the account
that has your
last name and
E-mail (Google Account e-mail)_________________________________
You are now ready to begin creating pages….
Think about how many pages you want and what kind of information you want on those page.
Clip Art can always be added later.
2. Create a Home Page
Go to http://pages.google.com again and log into your account
Check at the bottom that you agree to terms and are ready to create your page.
This window opens up and you are ready to begin – Be sure to name it so you know this is your home

3. To Add Another Page:
Click on Back to Site Manager – This takes you back to an index type page that will show all the pages
you have created and a link to create a new page.
On the right you can see any files or images you have uploaded to use.
Click on the Create a new page and you will get a new blank page.
4. Adding a Newsletter Page or Informational Page
You can copy and paste from a Word Document into the Page Creator document if you already have
your newsletter in Word. You may have to adjust the font and size once it is in the webpage. If you
have your newsletter in Publisher, you are better off copying and pasting by section rather than all at
once. This is something you can play with and find what works the best for you.
5. Adding a Navigation Button to a Page
You can create a Navigation Button (used mostly to return to Home Page) on the bottom of your
In the Footer Area – type Return to Home Page – highlight this text – then click the Link button and
have it link to your Pages and chose your Home Page from the list of your available pages.
6. Adding a Link to Your Email Address
If you would like to have a link to your email address that parents and/or students can email to you
from your site – you can either add text (eg: click here to email) or a picture. Highlight the item you
want to be used as the link, chose Email Address and type your complete email address in the box.
7. Creating Other Links on a page
Highlight the text you want to link to a site: Click the Link button
The following window opens. Choose the type of link you want.
If you choose Web address or Email address, a new window opens and you type the email address or
URL in the box.
1. Creating a Template Page
If you want to have consistency throughout your site, you can create a Template page. Start by
creating a new page and name it Template. Set this page up as you want all pages to look. To create a
new page using the template, go back to Site Manager, check the box next to this page and (under
More Actions) chose Duplicate. When the copy of template page is created, open it and then type a
new Heading and this will change the name of the page. When you go back to Site Manager you will
see the new page titled as you want it to be.
Add few things to know about Google Page Creator and Linking from the Craig ES Site
o All Google services are in testing mode as they are always adjusting and improving
o You have a maximum space of 100MB for your site – you will probably never reach this, but
be aware of it and know that pictures are usually pretty big as far as file size. You can adjust
the file size by adjusting the photo quality or size if you need
o There are directions about how to do different things in Page Creator and Google is very good
about details. You can find this by clicking on Help
o You can edit in Google Page Creator at home or on any computer on which you can get to the
Internet. You need to be running either Internet Explorer 6.0 or Firefox 1.0 to be able to edit
o Once you create your site and you are ready to have a link from the Craig website to this site,
please send me the address (URL) and I will add the link from your name on our site
