Email Cover Letter Template Subject Line: Job Title - Your Name or Job Number (some applications will have instructions on what should be in the subject line so make sure you read carefully) Dear Mr./Ms. Last Name or Dear Hiring Manager/Recruiter (if you don't have a contact person) First Paragraph: In this first paragraph you need state that you are applying for X position. If you have a mutual contact then definitely include there names. You are trying to convince the recruiter/hiring manager that you should be granted an interview, where you can talk about how perfect you are for the position. Middle Paragraphs: This is when you describe what you have to offer the employer. Mention specifically how your skills and experience match the job you are applying for. The job description will help you make that connection. Do not repeat or duplicate your resume. Conclusion: If you have attached your resume, mention it in this paragraph. Then conclude your cover letter by thanking the employer for considering you for the position. Best Regards, Your Name Signature: Try to scan and insert your actual signature. If you can’t do that than try to play around with the font to make it appear like a real signature. Include your name, full address, phone number, email address, website, blog etc. Your just trying to make it easy for the hiring managers, recruiters to get in touch with you.
