Creating Video Rough Draft
***Before you begin, you need
to have your 5 text images
uploaded into Animoto***
1) Go to http://animoto.com
2) Enter the email address
given to you- DO NOT ENTER
YOUR PERSONAL EMAIL!!
3) Your password is your ID #
4) Click Sign in

5) Click “Continue” for the
new project.

6) Click the “1. Let’s get your
imagery” tab.
You should see your 5
uploaded text images.
7) Click the T at the bottom to
add a title slide.
8) In the “Main text/title” field,
type in the TITLE OF YOUR BOOK.
9) In the “Sub text/title” field,
type in the AUTHOR OF YOUR
BOOK.
#8 10) Then click “Done.”
#9 Make sure the title slide is the
first image.

11) Click “Add More.”
You need to have at least 6 image
slides. 5 of these will be pictures
of your choice; the last will be a
picture of the cover of your book.
We will try to find as many
images from the Animoto
collection FIRST because images
from other sources MUST be
CITED (citations = more work!)
12) Click “Select from Our
Collection.”
13) Go through the Image
Collections to find images you
would like to use in your video.
YOU SHOULD NOT CHOOSE
MORE THAN 5.
To upload more than one image
at a time, hold down CTRL and
click on the images.
Click “Done” after you have
found as many images as you
want to use from the collection.
14) Rearrange the images to be in
the order you want. Be sure to
keep the title slide first.
The following directions are for images
taken from websites,
which you may not need for pictures
BUT EVERYONE will have
at least ONE image following these
directions-
the LAST slide with a picture of your book
15) Use the link on the library
project page to get to Google
Images.
Type in the title of your book and
click “search images.”
16) Click on a picture of your
book cover.
17) Click “See Full Size Image” at
the top of the page.
18) RIGHT Click on the image and
click “Save Picture As.”

19) Use the dropdown menu next
to “Save In” to change the location
to your K drive.
(You might have to click
“My Computer” first.)
Click “Save.”

20) Click the back arrow in the upper
left corner of Internet Explorer.
21) Highlight the web address listed
at the top next to the phrase
“Below is the image at,” then right
click and click “Copy.”

We need to create a place to save
the web addresses from which the
image was taken until all work is
done in order to create the
Works Cited slide.
22) Click StartPrograms

23) Right click on the page and click
“Paste.”
You should see the web address on
the page.

24) Click the Windows Icon, then
“Save As,” and save the document to
your K drive.

25) Go back to Animoto.
Click “Add More.”
26) Click “upload from your
computer.”
27) Click on your book cover
image file in your K drive.
Click “Open.”

28) Make sure the book cover
image slide is LAST.
Click “Done.”

If you need more images, repeat Steps 15-28
Rearrange the images as needed

(title must be 1 ; book cover must be last)
If you have all the images you need,
SKIP to Step 29
29) You may ONLY chose the
“select from our collection”
option.
DO NOT upload ANY music
from anywhere else, due to
copyright and music rights.
30) Go through the collection.
Take your time with this- the
music is important to the
“tone” of the project. The
topic and the tone have to fit.
31) You can preview the song
by clicking “play.”
Once you have found the song
you want to use, click
“select.”
32) Click “Save and Continue.”
33) Click “Continue.”
Do not change the speed.

34) In the “Title” field, type in
the TITLE OF YOUR BOOK.
35) Click “Create Video.”

36) Wait for the video to be
produced.
This will take longer as your
video has more parts!!
37) Click “Ok” on the popup box.
38) Click “Share” in the
“Video Toolbox.”

39) Click “Share.”
40) Click “Email.”

41) In the “to” line, type in the
following email address:
udenniston@gmail.com
UNCLICK “Email me when
recipients open this greeting.”
Then click “Share video.”
