Instructional       Reading: Students will read resumes from computer software programs
                    to gather information regarding layout, design, and format.
Focus               Writing: Students will document resume examples and draft personal
                    statements. Students will proofread and correct personal statements.
                    Research: Students will research current artists’ resumes on the Internet.

                        Students will create an original logo and artistic statement.
                        Students will synthesize personal information into a resume format
                         for their own identity.
                        Students will create original art work that will then utilize unique
                         page layout and design to integrate the art work and/or graphics,
                         artist statement, and personal data into an art resume format.
                        Students will integrate word processing, illustrating, scanning,
                         formatting, original art work, individual artist statement, logo, and
                         graphics into a personal resume.
Performance         Overview
                    Students will create an original, personal, current artist statement and a
Task                one-page resume for college applications and job opportunities.
                    Description
                    1. Assign students to research current artist statements and resumes
                         on the Internet.
                    2. After completing their research and documenting examples of
                         artist statements, the students will draft of their own artist
                         statements, including their artistic goals.
                    3. Students will work in a round-robin to proofread and make
                         corrections to their statements.
                    4. Students will collect and compile personal information regarding
                         art training, experiences, awards, activities, work experience and
                         future art objectives.
                    5. Students will create an original artist logo and related art graphics.
                    6. Student will write, rewrite, and edit the content of their resumes
                         creating a minimum of three unique thumbnail layout designs.
                    7. Students will complete their final resumes and print out two
                         copies, one to remain in the classroom archives.
                    8. Students will present their resumes to the class for an art critique.
