The Principal Leadership Academy
is a one year research-based
professional development program
for principals serving within the first
year of your new assignment.
         Who Do We Serve?



The Principal Leadership Academy is
designed to train and support new
principals serving in our K-12
schools, Small Schools, Continuation
Schools, Charter and Partnership
Schools
              Program Components

The program consists of three researched-based key
program features:

             Program Component # 1
A Four day Summer Boot Camp designed to:
– prepare principals for their new assignments
– develop their concept of leadership and introduce a
   conceptual framework for their leadership practice.
– assist principals in becoming reflective of their leadership
   practice
– assist principals in beginning the process of data-based
   strategic planning
– provide staff relations training and opening school
   procedures and processes for new principals.

Individualized Project-based
Professional development sessions
designed to instruct, guide, and support
principals in developing and
implementing an effective strategic plan
to increase student achievement.
                   Our Curriculum
The curriculum is focused on developing
instructional leadership and school management
through the interaction of the core components listed
below and six key leadership behaviors: planning,
implementing, supporting, advocating,
communicating, and monitoring

  •   Rigorous and Quality Instruction

Mentoring provided by the Leadership
Academy staff to support and monitor the
implementation of the training provided
and build the capacity of the principals to
create and enact the identified strategic
plan for their schools.
