Teaching English through Problem Based Learning in a Digital World
Andrew Bosson
My Presentation
I will be using Prezi during my talk. Unfortunately I cannot directly upload it onto the conference
website. You can access the presentation (with a pathway created) by clicking the link below. (At the
time of writing it is still being finalised but you can have a look and see what is happening)
Prezi with pathway.*
On the Prezi I have added quotes and a reference list I found relevant from my research of the
subject. I will not be discussing these during my talk. If you are interested in reading them you can
access the Prezi below that does not have a pathway. You can move around and zoom as you like.
Prezi without pathway.*
*for a reason I cannot work out when you open the Prezi an error message comes up. If you click past
this you get to the Prezi and it works!
The Wiki
You can access the wiki I will be presenting in the talk by clicking on the link below and requesting
access – I will grant access ASAP.
Wiki link.
A very brief introduction to using wikis.
The talk is not a ‘how to’ of wiki use but an example of an affordance the wiki presents to deliver
Problem Based Learning. I will refer briefly in the talk to a familiarisation task I use for learners new
to the wiki. I have recorded a short video showing how I use the activity. You can access it through
the link below.

The materials for the activities above can be found below.

Student Copy
He got the name when he was visiting Honolulu Ayrport. wikis are very difficult to use. Anyone can
use a wiki as long as they have a computer what is connected to the internet. Users can make their
own comments or change other people’s entries. Wiki means quick in Hungarian. Wikis are good
because they let people work together. Blogs are the same because they cannot be changed by other
people. the first wiki was created by Cunningham Ward in 1995.
(Now write your interesting fact here.)
