                                                                                                                                              He was the first person to perform endove-
                                                                                                                                            nous laser closure in Los Angeles. This pro-
                                                                                                                                            cedure treats varicose veins with a laser fiber
                                                                                                                                            that goes right into the vein. Strong pulses of
                                                                                                                                            laser light cause the vein to collapse and
                                                                                                                                            seal.
                                                                                                                                              Dr. Gradman was also the first in Los
                                                                                                                                            Angeles to use foam sclerotherapy. This
                                                                                                                                            mainstay treatment for spider or small vari-
                                                                                                                                            cose veins, involves a mild detergent solution
                                                                                                                                            that is injected to collapse the veins.
                                                                                                                                              All venous procedures are performed with a
                                                                                                                                            local anesthetic, and Dr. Gradman is one of

                                                                                                                                            tice. Patients remain awake during treatment.
                                                                                                                                              And since all procedures are performed at
                                                                                               the Center, no hospital stay is involved. Dr. Gradman is one of a few Southern California
                                                                                               vascular surgeons to be a member of both the American College of Phlebology, which

                                                                                                         Dr. Gradman is a graduate of Harvard Medical School. He completed additional
