Many of my friends don’t think constipation is a huge problem. In fact, some think
having a bowel movement every 2 days is normal. Only when I run them through a
checklist of tell-tale signs do they realize they are actually constipated. The simplest
solution is dietary fibre. The good news is, do you know that a high quality fibre food
also has the ability to manage your weight effectively, give you beautiful complexion,
and prevent intestinal cancer and diabetes?

Here's the Checklist to discover if you have constipation problem.

1. Do you suffer from constant headache? It is caused by dirty, "muddy" blood
flowing in your body.
2. Do you suffer from bloated stomach? Your food takes a long time to digest and
cause a lot of uncomfortable gas in your stomach.
3. Do you feel lethargic? When your blood is dirty, it circulates slowly and is slow to
transport oxygen and nutrients to your cells, resulting in lower energy level and
feelings of tiredness.
4. Do you have bad breathe or strong body odor? When your colon is jammed, the
toxins in your body find other ways to exit, such as through your mouth and skin
pores.
5. Do you suffer from facial congestion? When you have pimples or acne around
your chin area, you are likely to suffer from constipation problem. Your skin is an
avenue for toxin elimination.
6. Do you fail the stool quality test? A normal healthy stool should have the following
5 characteristics. Density, whereby your stools should float instead of sink. It should
be golden yellow in color. It should be shaped like a banana. The size should be 1 to 2
inches in diameter. Finally, the smell should be almost odorless.
What is Dietary Fibre?

It is that portion of the plant foods that cannot be digested by our body. It is divided
into 2 main components.

Water Soluble Fibre is the gel-like substance in plants such as what you see in okra
and papaya as well as oats and barley. It acts like a sponge to absorb the excessive
sodium, sugar or fats from the food you consume. As such, it is able to prevent
diseases like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes and heart disease.

Non-Water Soluble Fibre comes mainly from green leafy vegetables like spinach, the
skin of corns and tomatoes as well as wheat. It promotes peristaltic movement of your
intestines.
Therefore, it is able to prevent constipation, piles and colon cancer.

Why Is Dietary Fibre Important?

If the food we eat each meal does not pass out after 4 to 5 hours, it would accumulate
in our intestines and form stubborn plague that line our intestine walls. What happens
then?

It would interfere with the absorption of nutrients by our small intestines and the
absorption of water by our colons. Bad bacteria would grow, causing the feeling of
gassiness and bloated stomach condition. If this condition persists, it may lead to
cancerous diseases.

How Much Fibre Food Is Required?

On average, the dietary guideline recommendation is about 25g to 35g per day,
roughly about 25 to 30 green apples with skin intact. This differs for males and
females, and depends on age and the activity of the person. In our modern-day
lifestyle, most of us are unlikely to achieve this requirement merely from our daily
meals. And hence, a good fibre supplement is extremely important to meet that
objective.
