Local Culture
The Hyatt Regency McCormick Place is in an ideal location, located close to the
Magnificent Mile, the Navy Pier, and virtually every sports franchise in Chicago. With its
sweeping views of Lake Michigan and Chicago, Hyatt Regency McCormick Place stands
out among the city's finer hotels.

Chicago is a bustling, energetic city, located in the heart of the Midwest’s Great
Lakes region. Those who arrive early are encouraged to consider these special local
options:
• Shopping on the Magnificent Mile. Michigan Avenue is a short cab ride or a free
shuttle ride down the waterfront from the Hyatt. There you will find a cornucopia of
stores ranging from Saks Fifth Avenue to Filene’s Basement.
• Chicago is home to several world-class museums, including the Art Institute of
Chicago, Field Museum, Museum of Science and History, Mexican Fine Arts Center
Museum and the Chicago History Museum.
• Architecture. Since the Great Chicago Fire leveled downtown in 1871, Chicago has
been known for its innovative architecture and soaring skyline. At the top of any
visitor’s “must-do” list should be the Chicago Architecture Foundation’s
Architectural River Cruise. Check out the Foundation’s website,
www.architecture.com, for other walking and specialty tours.
• Food lovers love Chicago. For restaurant reviews and suggestions, visit
Metromix.com, the Chicago Tribune’s entertainment guide.

    from August 8-10.
