Virata Gamany Encourages Community Involvement in the Workplace

VANCOUVER, BC – When those who know him describe Virata Gamany, a common adjective
used is “philanthropist.” Gamany has for some time been participating in a number of
community and charitable events and projects. He has a number of organizations, in fact, he has
worked with on a continual basis. Now, however, he has spread the desire to his entire staff
through the implementation of a community outreach program.
Gamany recently implemented a program wherein one day of every month is dedicated to
participation in a community, social or charitable event. On that designated day, the entire team
joins together to perform an outreach effort. Team members are given the day off with pay under
the stipulation they join the team to volunteer at a preplanned event. Examples of events the team
has completed or has plans in the near future to complete include working with children, feeding
the homeless, and many more.
“This program is already giving us so much more than we could have imagined,” says Gamany.
“We started out doing this to help others and to demonstrate to the team the importance of giving
back. What we didn’t count on was just how much it was going to bring our team together and
work like a strengthening exercise for us as a collective. Not to mention, the work is both fun and
