Keeping Track of your Food
Intake

Directions: Follow the steps below to complete this assignment.
1. Go to http://www.mypyramidtracker.gov/
2. Click on Assess Your Food Intake (written in blue). You will now have to
register and create a log in name. Make the log in something you will
remember because we could return to this assignment later in the
school year.
3. Once you have logged in you will need to fill out your personal
information including: age, gender, birthday, height and weight. Now
you are ready to proceed.
4. Click on - Proceed to Food Intake at the bottom of the page. You can
now start typing in everything you ate during the day.
5. Once every food item you ate is logged in click on - select quantity.
Now you can see a list of every item on your food consumed list. You
still have to choose serving size and number of servings. If you do not
know the quantity, ask your parent/guardian to help you estimate.
6. You are now ready to save/analyze. Once you do this click on the
Meeting 2005 Dietary Guidelines (DG) you will now see a smile face if
you met the guidelines or a frown if you did not.
7. Click the back button and take a look at your Nutrient Intake and
MyPyramid recommendations.
8. Print out all three of these items. Be sure to attach them to this sheet
and turn everything in on the due date.
