							                The 67th ALL IRELAND PIPE BAND CHAMPIONSHIPS
             Under the auspices and rules of The Irish Pipe Band Association & the RSPBA NI
                           Usual Joint Association Council (J.A.C.) Rules apply.
VENUE: Ballina Rugby Club grounds Creggs Road Ballina Co Mayo
Date:-     Saturday, July 7th., 2012 commencing at 11.00am.
Adjudicators: Drawn from I.P.B.A. and R.S.P.B.A. panels.
Entry fees:- Paid to each band’s parent organization in their own currency
Entries close 16th June 2012
  BANDS, THAT ENTER AND FAIL TO TAKE PART AND DO NOT NOTIFY THE
         SECRETARY BY 10AM ON THE CONTEST DATE, WILL BE FINED
                             £25 OR 30 EUROS
                         RULE WILL BE STRICTLY APPLIED

MARCHING AND DEPORTMENT: Contest for Marching and Deportment will be judged from starting
line until the bands leave the arena.

Senior – (Over 18 years)         1st Prize -Briscoe Cup & Medals to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th Places
Novice Juvenile – (Under 11 yrs) 1st Prize Crozier Cup & Medals to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th Places
Junior – (Under 14 years)        1st Prize -McBride Family Shield & Medals to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th Places
Juvenile – (Under 18 yrs)        1st Prize – Crozier Cup & Medals to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th Places

All bands competing must be in membership of the I.P.B.A., the R.S.P.B.A. or be an affiliated band of the
I.P.B.A. or the R.S.P.B.A. Bands to play in grades allotted to them only, but Grade 2 bands may play in the
All Ireland Championships, provided they meet the musical requirements.

 All bands in Grades 4A , 3A, 3B , 2, and 1 must submit a 6/8 March as they
  WILL be required to play for Drum Majors CONDITION OF ENTRY
COMMITTEE: A sub-committee comprised of 4 members of the J.A.C., namely Ciarán Mordaunt, George
Ussher, Finbarr Connolly and David Scott( Chairmen and Secretaries of the respective Associations ) shall
adjudicate on any complaint or protest . The decision of the sub-committee shall be final and binding on all
participants. Protests, which should be written and accompanied by £25 or 30 Euros should be handed to the
J.A.C. Secretary Mervyn Herron or any member of this committee .

MINIMUM NUMBERS:
Grade 4A & B – 6 pipers, 2 side drummers, and 1 bass
Grade 3A & B – 7 pipers, 3 side drummers, and 1 bass
Grade 2         8 pipers, 3 side drummers, and 1 bass
Grade 1         8 pipers, 3 side drummers, and 1 bass
Finale: All bands will play “The Battles O’er” followed by the Salute to the Chieftain which will be "The
Minstrel Boy"

ENTRIES: Entry forms with remittance (cheques made payable IN Sterling to RSPBA and Euro to
IPBA

Parking of Motorhomes

This will will be allowed at the rear of the school which is adjacent to the rugby club.
Parking of camper vans will be free of charge, however, no vans will be permitted to enter
before 2pm on Friday 6th July
