The following Web Parts are built into the SharePoint 2007 Site templates and are based on any default or custom lists
or libraries within SharePoint.
List or Library Web Part Description
Announcements Use to post news, statuses and brief information for team members.
Calendar Use to display upcoming events or schedules.
Content and Structure Use the reports list to customize queries that appear in the Content and
Reports Structure Tool views.
Customized Reports The Document library has templates to create custom Web Analytics reports
for this Site Collection.
Links Display links to other web pages for the team.
Shared Documents Use to share files from the default Document Library within the site.
Images System library created by Publishing feature to store images for the site.
Pages Use this library to create and store pages on this site.
Tasks Display tasks that are assigned to a member of the team. These tasks can
display due date and priority, as well as status and progress.
Team Discussion Provide a forum for topics of interest for a team.
Workflow Tasks This System Library was created by the Publishing feature to store workflow
tasks that are created in this site.

Business Data
These web parts provide the ability to access SharePoint data internally or externally. This is primarily done through
the Business Data Catalog (BDC). The BDC is a published list of connections to different data sources such as SQL,
Oracle, SAP, etc.

These Web Parts allow users to aggregate information into one location which is typical the My Sites.

Colleague Tracker This Web Part shows you recent changes to your colleagues' user Standard &
(My Site) properties. It can help you keep track of what's new with people Enterprise
you work with. You can track information such as anniversaries,
membership changes, and office location changes.

Site Aggregator Use the Site Aggregator Web part to display sites of your choice. All Versions

For SharePoint sites, it shows your documents on the site and
gives you a link to the site. For non-SharePoint sites, it shows the
site itself (although there may be errors in displaying the page).
This Web Part works the same as the My SharePoint Sites Web
Part, except that the Site Aggregator Web Part does not display
the list of tasks.
Dashboard Web Parts
Primarily used to display information in a dashboard using colors/symbols to represent where the information is
related to a goal.
