Dear Parents/Guardians of Students Attending Prom:

Prom is an important spring social event at South St. Paul High School. We are writing to
inform you of the Prom plans for this year.

Prom is Friday, April 20rd at the Great Hall in St. Paul. We do not have school that day.
Directions and a map are on the back of this letter. Parking is very difficult around the
Great Hall. We are suggesting that students and those attending Grand March park in the
parking ramp located on 5th, directly across from the Great Hall.

Parents/guardians, relatives, and friends may view the students attending prom elegantly
dressed for the evening at our Grand March at the Landmark Center at 7:15 p.m. We are
asking that all spectators please DO NOT arrive before 6:45p.m. Students are
encouraged to arrive by 6:45 p.m. Students are asked to check-in at the registration
table as they enter the North (5th Street) doors of the Great Hall (please bring tickets with
you). Students will receive their pronunciation card at this time which will allow the MC’s to
pronounce their name correctly. There is no specific order for Grand March. Once the Grand
March is over, parents/friends need to leave. The dance will start at 8:30 p.m. and will end
at 11:30 a.m.

Dan Grevas Photography will be available to take formal pictures. Students should have
already signed up for a picture appointment (anytime from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.). On Prom
night pictures will be taken on the 2rd floor of the Great Hall. Picture envelopes were given
out when students purchased their tickets. Couples only need to fill out one picture
envelope, as the packages are set up to be split.

Prom is a school function for students who are juniors and seniors only. Sophomores can
attend if asked by a junior or senior. NO FRESHMAN are allowed at all. All South Saint
Paul High School rules for conduct and behavior will be enforced for our students and Prom
guests who do not attend South St. Paul High School. The students have always conducted
themselves very well. If you have any questions, feel free to call Kris Weinfurtner (Prom
Advisor) at 457-9408 ext. 1253 or Butch Moening (High School Principal) at 457-9402.
